i participated in a taping for a special about BARRY BONDS. these were my credentials. i had a story about seeing BARRY hit a walk off grand slam. but all the other stories were so much better than mine.
that guy had the best story of the day. he was there for 715. that's the homer that BARRY passed BABE RUTH for second all time. the way he told it was that he was coming back to his seat with a fresh beer. but he went down the wrong isle. then all the sudden he looks up and the ball is coming at him. he tried to catch it but gets hit in the chest with the baseball, spilled his beer, and the ball went down below to some dude waiting for a sausage. the guy who caught the ball instantly gets escorted out of the stadium with the home run ball - and our man here has been bitter about it ever since. the ball sold at auction for $220,000 US. he said he had a bruise on his heart for weeks.
